how do you use codes for the wii?

I know this is a noob question, but how do you use the codes for the wii that are here through an action replay or something else? Also is there any risk to the system itself? Thanks in advance.

You have to install the HBC. To do this you need to use an exploit to run the installer. from there you can download a homebrew app called Gecko OS and Accio Hacks. The Wiibrew page should be able to tell you the rest. Look up how to use occarina for further info on how to prepare your cheat files. Accio Hacks is a wii side app that downloads the cheats from the Wiird Database and then allows you to choose and edit values of the codes before generating a gct file for use with Gecko OS/Occarina.
