Here are ways to join our IRC Channel:

Method 1. Use an IRC client
Method 2. Use the Mibbit AJAX client

Method 1:

If you have an IRC client installed on your computer (such as mIRC or X-Chat), all you have to do is click on this link, and it should take you directly to the IRC channel:

irc://irc.dragon-fire.org/gscentral

If that link doesn't work, type the following commands:

/server irc.dragon-fire.org
/join #gscentral

and it's as simple as that.

Method 2:

Don't have an IRC client? Well, you can still join us on IRC. Here's how. Just click the link below:

Then, just fill in your nickname and password (if you registered your nick, this will auto-identify you) and click connect. You will now be on #gscentral.

Now, I recommend that you also register your nickname (required for any status other than voice). This is how you can do it:

/msg NickServ REGISTER [password] [email@example.com]

It MUST be entered exactly as shown for it to work correctly. Then, to verify or identify yourself, you simply type this:

/msg NickServ IDENTIFY [password]

*Some clients also allow you to auto-identify.

It is not possible for someone else to change your nickname; half-ops don't even have much access to ChanServ in the first place. Read the first post about identifying, or go look up some IRC tutorials.

1) I didn't falsely gain ops, an op gave it to me. That is your responsibility to deal with. Then, when Quote or Neku, or whatever his name is comes in and continues to whine, and that in my opinion is worthy of a kick or ban (if done several times and then makes fun of people). Then I get banned for doing something about it, because I am not okay with.

2) Talk to your ops about giving un-registered users access to the Op privilidge.

3) I did absolutely nothing wrong. I was away from my computer when I was kick/banned. I was banned for not responding, well, of course I would not be responding if I wasn't there. The entire use of IRC is for people to stay connected while either away or gone. Look at the trivia room, how many people do you think is actually there.

4) You are all a bunch of retards if you don't know why IRC was made or how to use it correctly. It doesn't take two minutes to read up on commands, and he could have used his own chanserv privilidge to remove himself, that is, if he had access to do so.

GH0, there was no reason for you to ban him and it was clearly visible that your intention was to get rid of him because you can't stand him. Getting ops is not only a privilege, but you also get the liability to judge objectively about all subjectives and with the equality of all people always in mind. I mean, seriously, you banned him directly after you got the ops, and even if it was the punishment for something, you shouldn't have cared because halfops are there to control the acute conversation and punish people for small misbehaviors; things like being a consequent annoyance or other chronic things are to be solved by the higher ops. You practically punished him for something that was very minor, that happened before your "period of office" and that you shouldn't have even cared about as it shouldn't have been your job as you were a halfie. You know about all that and just make seriously dumb excuses to hide your selfishness in that thing. Just because you get disconnected doesn't mean the network is down. It is working perfectly fine for me, Naraku2000, Hawkeye, and about 98 others sitting in #deltaanime. And also, anyone who has been banned before, the ban list is clear as of now. (Don't know about akick, but I believe that is clear too.) So, yea, if you had been banned, you aren't now.

Delta Anime seems to be down. For now, you can all hang out in my room on another server until either the old network miraculously comes back to life or hawkeye2777 moves #GSCentral to irc.dragon-fire.org.

I believe DaIRC got a DOS attack, because when you try to connect, instead of getting server not found, it comes back with a server taking too long to respond. Also, Dragon-fire.org supports multiple people on Mibbit, so no more seeing Too Many connections. DaIRC hasn't added the exception to mibbit yet. (They hardly get anything done.)

IRC.

Chatango is limited and you are forced to use their laggy Flash app to get on. IRC, you can make a widget with either lightirc.com, mibbit.com, or if you all want it, I can host a qwebirc (Which would probably be better in the long run) and you guys can customize it. I don't know why people who don't use IRC that often have a sudden hatred towards it. It is the most universal way to get on and chat. What is there to hate? Someone was saying to just get everyone to get on MSN. MSN is limited to like 3 ways to get on... ebuddy, the MSN application, and like 5 Linux apps. IRC has about 100 ways to get on. You don't have to register your nick (You would want to if you wanted to keep it, but don't you have to register with everything else anyways?).

Anyways, if you went with Chatango for a chatbox, I'd have to adblock it. This site lags enough already and Chatango will just bring it down more. Just don't flat out ditch IRC.

Also... with either one you use, unless you tried to put transparent on everything, you would have to make a separate widget for every forum theme... that is... if you wanted them to actually go with the forum.

My vote's for a new IRC server, I quite like IRC :S I mean, I'd be fine with a chatbox too, but IRC's got my #1 vote, considering late at night I have to sneak on to my netbook if I feel like coming on and this silly little thing can barely handle having Firefox running, IRC's easy to leave open in another tab and I can't imagine how long the forum page would take for this to load with a full-fledged chatbox AAAND I'm rambling, aren't I? XD
