    Server: irc.dsirc.tk
    Channel: #GSCentral
    Webchat: http://chat.usoog.com/?channels=gscentral

Most clients use these commands to get on:

    Code:
    /server irc.dsirc.tk
    /join #GSCentral
If you cannot get connected with the URL above, you might be able to get on with irc.usoog.com. Same channel. USOOG is linked with us.

All forum rules apply in the channel.

Also, you should be aware of the server rules upon connecting by doing /motd and /rules when you connect. (They will appear in your server tab.)

New IRC information will be posted here (probably by Spawn, as it is on his server now).
Currently "retired" from hacking codes and being administrator of GSC.

Just noticed that the link on the main page (Community > IRC) is the old one... Can someone change it?

After getting one of my other domains deleted due to the main page being down, I decided to move dsirc.tk to the forum, which is on a different IP, meaning that the chat link now doesn't work. I think you will be better off using deathspawn.servebeer.com since that is the no-ip.com domain I am using (I hate dynamic IP's btw). I CNAME'd any other subdomains, but dot.tk won't let me use a CNAME on the main domain, hence sticking it on the forum. Plus, prophpbb seems to be more stable than my home connection...

So yea, just gotta have you change the link to http://deathspawn.servebeer.com:9090...nels=gscentral

Edit: I hope no-ip.com doesn't delete domains... I doubt they will if they have a computer checking on it every 30 mins.

Updated topic again. Network has gone through some changes. I am no longer hosting the IRCd from home, so we are minus that server. Also, Undersoft and iRoj's VPS is gone. We have, however, linked with USOOG (User's Studio of Open Games) (which is a nice community, might want to consider affiliating with them.). I originally met the owner from the towerdefence.net (now towerdefence.usoog.com) IRC channel. He's pretty cool. You can visit them in #usoog when you get on the chat if you want.

Anywho, they have a webchat hosted on their server, so, yet again, the webchat link changed. http://gsc-chat.dsirc.tk will always go to the correct place, unless by some means I lose the domain...

@Rune If you could, since the info changes a lot, just redirect everyone to this thread. Makes it easier on you and me.

Also, as of now, #gscentral is sort of dead... maybe it was the domain changes, I don't know... but, since it is... there are some other channels of interest until #gscentral gains some users:

    #usoog -- USOOG's channel. Keep it clean.
#hell -- Laid back, do what you want, adults only mostly channel.
#dsirc -- DSiRC's channel. Also keep it clean.

IRC has sort of died out ever since social programs came onto the scene (ie. Facebook).

What? That's not even true. IRC is still just as active as ever, if not more. Just depends on what network and channel you are sitting in at the time. XMPP and IRC are still probably the biggest resources for chatting. XMPP being the open IM communication (Facebook and Google both use it.), and IRC being the main help line for most everything.

    • Most of the Linux distrobutions, including Ubuntu, Debian, OpenSUSE, Fedora, and Mandriva use it for support, and all of them are on Freenode. (Other distros might be on different networks, I know Mint is on its own.) Hell, even 1000+ people are sitting in #ubuntu daily.
    • Most shell providers use it.
    • Chat bot development is often booming on there, (including the bad kind, unfortunately...). I still gotta love my new Supybot, Skittle.
    • It is also still the easiest thing to create a channel on... can just open your browser, search for a network with a webchat, and then join a channel.

Also, I'm just a nerd for this, but currently I am on over 70 channels, and on 7 networks, including the one I run.

My net is still small, but there are 14 people on it. And it isn't dying at all.
Freenode: Current global users 57604, max 75049
EFnet: Current global users 37412, max 39792
DeltaAnime: Current Global Users: 743 Max: 1109
EsperNet: Current global users 4964, max 5828
    irc.dab.biz: Current Global Users: 87 Max: 539
Rizon: Current global users 17812, max 27549

Just depends on where you go. If you are looking for activity, my net is probably not the best place... but do come there, because the more people that get on, the more people stay. It's those people that just get on and look at a 5 user room and not get their 5 second fix form their hello and decide to leave; that kill off new rooms. (Mibbit is the leading cause of this.)

(Give me one reason you think IRC is dead and I will give you a giant post about why it isn't.)

Even back in the day, very little discussion that went on on the IRC channels involved code creation directly. Your examples curiously have no relevance to GSCentral's primary objectives.

I assumed you were referring to IRC in general. And the only reason why #gscentral, specifically, is dead is because nobody uses it. Why they don't, I don't know. But I'll keep it up till I get bored with IRC. (Which won't happen anytime soon.) And most of the discussion that even goes on there isn't even about coding... just anything really... I think nenson did flood it once when he was ripping music from roms. It's just whatever topic comes up. :/
