Just because the HBC fixed that bug doesn't mean other apps did. (I think it was a libogc bug, I'm not positive however)

You shouldn't need to downgrade to 3.2 to use this... just downgrade MIOS to v5 (which can be done w/ WAD Manager).

Actually there is currently only one way to create animated channels but if you aren't sure what you are doing it will likely create a banner brick. I will not disscuss the proccess at this time as it's highly experimental and the proccess applies to the system menu wad as well for changing the health warning image...... It's highly advised to avoid these things. (Unless you are able to dump and reflash the nand of your wii. To reflash nand on a bricked wii you need the infectous mod chip so yeah best of luck to you all.) Either way I know how but do not wish to try it as of yet..... I believe they plan to enable you to make animated channels with the next released wadder......

For now I actually used there own notes to figure out how to go about patching the system with a custom opening image. It looks great but it did slow down load time a bit.......... that and if done improperly one can kiss there wii goodbye.

Yeah it wasn't mainly hex that matters..... It's the Ash decrompression that is a pain in the ass. there is currently only one app out there that can properly open the system menu ash file............. on the other hand there are few out there that can properly compress it once decompressed......... There is no actual ash compressors out there but there are some other types of compression useable for this....... Although that doesn't apply to channels and it's much more risky then just a regular banner brick......... It generally isn't recoverable from what I understand........ Bassically I am way to damn gutsy for my own good lol.

Ok, so I've downloaded and installed all of the required patches and stuff, and I've been able to get the AR channel working, but I still have a question. How do I select which codes I'm using? Or does the application load all of them in the save file? And in that case, what codes are on the supplied save file? Thanks to whoever takes their time and answers this.

It bassically loads the Datel action replay for the gamecube. Simple as that. It simply patches the dol to force the loading of the game the file is bound to at loading.

Hmmm, cuz when I load it, it goes straight to whatever game I inserted. I've done all the stuff you mentioned earlier to fix adding channels, and applied the MIOS patch. Is there anything I'm forgetting to do? Or does it just hate me? lol

When you load the AR loader using either the channel or the HBC method it should load into the AR unless the dol isn't present on your sd card.

Make sure that the dol label ar114.dol that came with the download is on the root of the sd card.

EDIT: Ok, so it loaded up the dol, but all I got treated to was a black screen =S. Any ideas why this may still be happening?

I assume you have the gamecube game in the wii before starting this right? othere than that I can't think of much else that would cause it unless the patch for the mios didn't install quite right.....

You'd have to downgrade your MIOS to v5 first (ACCF gives you MIOSv8).

You don't have to downgrade the wii. you only have to delete the newer version of mios and install an old one. It's kind of a downgrade but It's not likely to damage anything.

Correct.

@raz: You must have set the dimensions wrong. Banners are very, very picky.

@luigi: There's an alternate way to downgrade your MIOS. I'll upload any files you may need for it if I get the chance.

For the animated channel It's much more complicated than just setting a few dimmensions and injecting the info....... You first have to manually edit the whole damn thing.

i have a problem with this and its definitly not my memory card because the .gci file copied onto my memory card easily. when i installed the mIOS patch, i noticed on parts of the screen i saw "failed" and i think thats the reason why im getting a black screen after launching gamecube games through the AR loader, has this got anything to do with my system menu (3.2E).

3.2 is fine. Perhaps you have a higher version of MIOS on your Wii (most likely MIOSv8).

You can't use codes like you do on the Wii on the Gamecube. You have to manually add them in. I think that's what you are trying to do.

When you load the loader it shouldn't go straight to the game....... It should load the Action Replay V1.14 for the Nintendo Gamecube. This is a cheat device that allows the manual entry of game codes for use with gamecube games that was created by datel. When it loads it should have a full GUI Interface. When you use the loader if it goes straight to the game no text or anything on screen then the MIOS Patch failed.

I only have Nintendo memory card and I got it to work.
I got the Wii GeckoOS to load the memory card only ones, but the GC GeckoOS is always able to read them. And the AR seams to have a higher success rate of reading the from the card if it's empty (it might just be if it's the first save on the card).

It's a homebrew bug that seems to exsist in this. However if you insert a memory card with only the AR Save in slot b It should work nicely then after the game loads just insert another in slot A. It's a pain but hey it's free GC Cheating.

I haven't got the game to try. Are there more than one version of the game? if so you may have the wrong codes for it. Try looking around to see if there is another version. You said you had cheats working with other games right? Seems like the codes you have for the game just don't work with your copy which would mean either You have the wrong version of the game. an incorrect master code or using cheats for the wrong region.

Gamecube with Official Nintendo mem cards work 100%, the bug only exists on the Wii.

Indeed. The bug isn't an actual wii thing but rather the Wii homebrew library..... It's fixed with a large number of apps but if it was developed early on the app is likely to still have the bug. which this one appears to be that way. Either way an official mem card works alright for me.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (PAL) and Tales of Symphonia (PAL) don't work, blank screen after pressing 'Start Game'.

However, SSBM (PAL) and LoZ: The Wind Waker (PAL) work fine. I haven't tried any others.

Can anyone suggest a reason for this or possible ways to get FFCC and ToS working? Thanks.

Unless your wii is chipped this tool will not work with any backups. If it is chipped then try burning a copy of the action replay disk and loading with that.

Thanks. although not really needed with the Wiigator GC Backup launcher out. An Action replay backup will work with all retail game disks. :D Either way it's still an easy quick way to load it.

ok i got a problem with your ar loader

the problem is

well it all do like it sopose to do but when he say ar is starting (wotherver it say) it like it as crashing and then the game cube game start and the ar didth appear

Yikes! Hate to be a pest guys, but I'm having trouble too! ^_^; I've tried going through this and whenever I start it up, it loads the game ID, goes into a green screen, makes a garbled mess over it, blacks out, then the game starts. No AR menu! :(

I have a better bit of advise hey. just download and install the GC Backup launcher v0.2 by wiigator and use MIOS V4 with the MIOS Patcher. Burn a copy of the GC AR and put it in the wii and use like the Normal AR.

For AR on multis, I would imagine you do what you do for two disc games; hold Z or whatever and go back to select another disc.

That would likely work but I don't rightfully know. I can say that for single game disks it works flawlessly. Unless for some odd reason the disk is from a different region then the tool seems to fail quite badly because it forces the video mode of whatever disk is put in the drive overiding any of the AR Freeloader functions.........

The loader is completely legal so to post a link is legal but Google is a very good tool. either way Yes it will work with a regular size DVD.

What a pity, I did the GCN backup loading method by burning an AR disc to load. And I got it to load everything EXCEPT SSBM.

I dled the GC AR and burnt it on a dvd-r and I cant seem to get the disc to load. Did I get the wrong version of the AR? It's the 1.14B.

Did you run the MIOS patcher? It's part of the download. The patcher will patch the MIOS to run backups. It bassically patches the loader into the MIOS.
