hmmm the IOS shouldn't be aproblem. What region console are you running? also can you search for an app called syscheck GX and run it and post the resulting file for me. read all the readme files ect to figure that app out. it shouldn't be too much trouble at all. I suspect it may be a problem with you MIOS....

Ah. You are right. My MIOS was v5. I followed the guide put up by the Complete Softmod Guide to up/downgrade it, and I am getting a little closer.

I had tried upgrading to the v10 MIOS (and then to the v4 MIOS) using the RVL-mios-v10.wad (then RVL-mios-v4.wad) obtained through NUS downloader. Unlike the CSG stated, I never found a "MIOS-64-v10.wad" or "MIOS-64-v4.wad", just the RVL-mios WADs. This does not interfere with cMIOSWiiGator installation.

After using cMIOSWiiGator, I try loading ARloader 1.08 and ARloader 1.14
When I try the AR 1.08 loader, it goes through the motions before reaching the RGB-test screen: "Code decription error // press A to continue", "fatal error // malloc failed"
When I try the AR 1.14 loader, it goes through the motions, but then either a red error screen loads or the screen flickers blue.

Crap. Did I need to patch anything after this? Or load the right AR save to the memory cards? (I've got a Nintendo 59 in slot-A and an EMS USB 1019 in slot-B.)

Hm. Let's see if I remember everything.

I started trying to use the "MIOS Patching WAD Installer" that came with the ar114loader, but HBC couldn't execute it. No go.

I ran ModMii and installed everything included, still no luck.

I used the Multi-Mod Manager channel that ModMii installed to get the "RVL-mios-v5.wad.out.wad" from ar114loader installed. Nothing good/bad happened.

After using sysCheckGX and finding I have a v5 MIOS (which sysCheck says blocks AR), I followed the Softmod Guide and used cMIOSWiiGator (I presume WiiGator's MIOS installer?). Tried using the v10 installer (with a NUS DL'd v10 MIOS) and running ar114loader from HBC; after reading the GC disc an error message appears that's zoomed in and tinted red. Using ar108loader gets the color-test screen with a "code description error"

Then I installed the v4 installer after getting a v4 MIOS. (The instructions said NUS downloader would get a file called MIOS-64-vXX.wad and I'd have to rename it, I when used it, I received an already-renamed RVL-mios-vXX.wad file. *shrugs*)

This should be where I am right now.

Do you have a network connection on your Wii? also did any of the MIOS patchers report any errors when running them?

No network connection, and no error messages.

I did try to use the Multi Mod Manager to install the MIOS as WAD files, but that prevented the Wii from playing GC discs (though it did recognize them from the main menu). I re-ran the WiiGator installer to restore GC functionality.

Five months late, but it sounds like daanvandam is missing something. The AR menu pops up? How did that happen?

I'm still stuck at the BSOD. Pretty sure my offline-Wii has all the WAD files it needs (to the point where I think it can load burned discs). It's connected via component, widescreen, 480p (which does not affect Datel's other products like the Datel PowerSaves disc).

My 2GB SD card is FAT32 and runs HBC (and programs like GeckoOS, which is how I tested the PowerSaves disc) flawlessly. I have the AR114 channel loaded from . Even got ar108.dol, ar114.dol, SD-BOOT.dol, and WAD-Manager_v1.7.dol all in the root of the card.

I have a 3rd party memory card (the EMS 64MB USB one) with the 1.14 US.gci save (and a few others) on it thanks to GCMM from the HBC. There is an actual GC game in the drive (choices available at the moment are Harvest Moon: MM and the PowerSave disc) and a Wavebird connected at port-1.

Whenever I run the AR114 button from HBC, it says it is scanning the disk (didn't it used to say the disc title?), then loading AR, and then a black screen. If there is no memory card or if its in slot-B, I get stuck at the black screen no matter what I press on my Wavebird. If I put the memory card in slot-A, I get a red-colored mess on the screen.

I have an AR108 button, but no AR108 save; I figured it shouldn't matter since the memory card has an AR114 save. Sometimes a fatal error would occur and I'd get bumped to a color-test screen (a square with randomly shifting colors). Pressing A on the Wavebird just resets the color-shift. If I shift memory cards during this screen and press A, I get a MALLOC ERROR. If there is no memory card, it bumps me to the red-colored mess of the AR loader screen. (I can see "Action" in the upper right with "Replay" in the upper left, etc.)

What are all the possible ways this install could go wrong?
-The iOS/WAD files? (I haven't added anything since my last list)
-Wii connectivity? (I can't find my composites)
-Bad SD card? (Would a reformat help? Give the card a title?)
-Bad memory card? (Would a reformat help?)
-Bad DOL files? (Could I burn DVD of the AR114 disc and launch it via GeckoOS?)
