CODE REQUEST RULE CHANGE

Due to a new rule in effect, always post in an existing requests topic if one exists. It hardly matters if the topic was created for a specific code request - if a topic already exists for the game, post in that topic.


Also, for games that don't already have a request topic, please don't make topics that say something like "Twilight Princess Fishing Code". Just leave it at Twilight Princess, since it's likely someone else'll be posting their requests in the topic.

FYI: I know older topics exist and may be geared towards a specific code (like fishing for twilight princess). Ignore the fact that it's for a specific code and feel free to hijack it so I don't have to mess with merging them - if you post a split topic, it's going to get merged anyways, so save me the hassle of merging then pointing out the rules.

wouldn't you need a calender for that? anyways it wouldn't hurt to change the topics title to a more general thing if need be.

I am when I merge them (I did that with one of the sonic threads here: http://board.gscentral.org/index.php?topic=61.0 , if you read the reply titles they don't match the original topic).

And as for the calendar it's more so someone can't say "but I didn't know" - that excuse gets used on other forums way too much, I figure saying "you got one week" at least leaves it as "just get in the habit of posting in an existing topic now, provided one exists."

Wouldn't this just make things more difficult for people to get the codes they want? I mean, I haven't been here long, and I'm not trying to act like I understand how everything works here, but if you are looking for a code in a topic, and then people keep posting their own requests, then the chances of your wanted code being made is highly unlikely. To me it just seems like people are mooching off of your post.

It is easier for the hacker to browse through all of the requests in one thread than to do a search on the board through 200+ individual posts.

Codes shouldn't be posted in a code request thread. If anyone sees any being posted there, then moderators have my approval to split the thread.
