I finally found the one level in super mario World that I could never find. I new there were 96 excluding bowsers castle. I just could not find the 96th. Turns out it was on the lower bridge. There was a vine to the lake below. :D :D Levels pretty tough but I finally found it. I always wonderd why there was an island with a star you couldn't get to from anywhere else. Now I know. I did however cheat to find it. ;D
I also found a code to modify the number of levels the game says you've beaten. the problem is it's just a number. When the game saves it says you have this many beaten from the main menu. Unfortunately the Game still thinks they are not beaten. I've been trying to find a code to open the whole map. Unfortunately it doesn't do much. I've yet to find anything. maybey i'm looking in the wrong places. anyone else want to try? I can't even seem to open one level let alone the whole damn thing.

This address block is saved to the battery-backed RAM (SRAM) and contains all the cleared stage info we seek. I have a vested interest in finding a code to open all the levels, because I erased my fully complete saved (cartridge) game testing some codes out.
Here's how I have been looking at it:
I initiated a search with a brand new game.
I did a search to find (not=to last) after completing Yoshi's Island #2
these are the addresses that changed. I also completed Yoshi's Island #3 so I've included what changed at those address at that time also:

I tryed both less than and greater than searches and as of yet have had no luck. I'm not sure but I'm thinking each path may have a seperate address that controlls weather it's active or not. If this is the case the code may be too long. Do you know of a Debugger for for the SNES?
I fear that there may be too many bytes to change for a (real) game genie to be of any use.

I found an address that seems to be in some way linked to the changing of the map I found that it can control what level is beaten when set to a certain value even if your not playing the level. I also found it can parilize the map. you will still progress but the map won't change..... I tryed using a debugger but sadly I'm too inexperienced with ASM to understand much. either way it seems according to a guide note I have that it's working with an acumulator.

I've pretty much given up on the Idea that there is a simple code to open all the levels in SMW. I've started looking for other controller cheats that may be in there. I've got to believe the developers had some way of totally unlocking all the levels and unlockables, easily, without having to go into each level (with the debug code) and pressing "Select+Start" to clear it.
I can easily change values in the battery backed RAM with a Game Genie, but there are too many bytes to change, to have a fully completed game save. Wrong byte at the right time = lockup.

There must have been something that the developers had to open all the levels. I mean other then that debug code. one would think that a completed game would only have at most just an array of different adresses with different values than a new one to tell the game the level is open. ?I however can't even seem to open one level let alone the entire map. I can't seem to find an address that directly links to any of them. I found one to modify the number of them the save game thinks is beaten but it's just a number and has no actual effect. anyways if you have any info you can share it would be appritiated.

Actually I'm trying to do that. for now there is a code on the main site that lets you press Start+select to complete a level and A+B+Start+select to beat it through the second exit. thats the best there is for now. I'm hoping I can find a code to do that sometime soon. Unfortunately it's not looking to likely.

Well I'm getting frustrated with the search for a "open all the levels" super mario world code. I think the debug code is the best we're going to get for right now.
But I have a new adventure afoot...
I remember people posting on various message boards, asking why the game genie they just purchased on ebay, wouldn't work with their new style super nintendo. Nintendo apparently did something to defeat copying devices, and in the process, screwed up a good thing for Game Genie owners.
I just purchased a newer style SNES on ebay for $67 including S & H. ;D

-3 games: Jim Power: Lost in 3-D/Super Pro action Football/Zoop, or is it Zool?
If indeed the Game Genie doesn't work with it, I'll put my electronics super-powers to use, (which, btw, cost me $12,000 in student loans at NIT and took forever to pay off thank you), and find out why. Then defeat their defeatery. Ha-Ha!!!!!!!!

The problem with hacking a score modifier code, is that, much like fighting games such as Final Fight, is that they use indirect addressing...
The only thing I can do, is make it so that when the CPU scores, it is credited to the 1st player. And vice-versa.
Also, why would you want a code that sets the quarter time to 0:00?
I can set it to whatever I we want, but how about 5, 10, 15....seconds?
Could mess with the morph controller codes....

There are alot of controller cheats for this game. Also, if you go into the controller configuration menu, they put in a cheat finder/mini-game of sorts. They're so wacky!!!
If anyone is interested in trying to find the RAM address for the morph effect timer, and address of the character modifier, I may be able to come up with a modifier code and or access some new charachters.
I'm coming up empty handed. Maybe a fresh set of eyes can find it.
To morph into bugs bunny, press in rapid succession R then X a few times(quickly) during the game.
You must have some money accumulated to do this. With the codes below this shouldn't be a problem. If you go to Gamefaqs.com there are a bunch of other cheats you can use during gameplay.
I'll probably look for a debug menu next.

One of the games I received with the mini-SNES is Cutthroat Island. I used the "Level Mod" PAR code you hacked and made a Game Genie equiv. It works, and I can start in all of the levels, but during gameplay the graphics get messed up. Have you ever figured out what other addresses have to be modded to fix this. I noticed that you had a note for the carriage level that the graphics are glitchy. Oddly though, on an emulator all the other levels seem to be fine, but on the SNES...wow things get garbled quickly.
