nope it's a japenese shooter game. Not sure why it has that name though. it's that recca game but it's got some long ass name that doesn't even sound like a shooter. Still a good game.
I'll have the rest of the codes for it up tomorrow

I'm pretty sure the Summer Carnival was some festival in Japan. There are a couple other "Summer Carnival" games if I recall. These games were either sold or given away as prizes during the festivities.

That's like the game Argus. I found two addresses that seemed to be level modifiers. However, one kept going up and the other one would reset every 3 or 4 levels. The game is just a series of loops anyways, so it doesn't really matter.
Does Recca have an actual ending? I'm sick of playing these infinite loopers.

A continuous loop? SO the game would just repeat that part of the level forever? Wow, i could see that becoming repetative :![]()
I know I set the address to something hopping it was the level mod I was looking for started playing again and thought "Hmmm no effect. I'll just finish the level and see what happens." Long story short I didn't finish the level.

Note 1: This modifies the aiming mode for the extra cannon pickups
Note 2: This modifies the ammo type fired from the cannon.
Note 3: This modifies the number of the certain ammo type you shoot. It is however very unstable If set any higher than 02
Note 4: When activated this code will cause you to continuously play the certain portion of the level you are on forever. Or until the power to your system dies.
Note 5: This modifies the mode of play. All other values seem to crash but who knows mabey there is one out their for some hidden mode. I did not test them all completely so I can't say.
Note 6: This is actually a mode modifier. The range for this code is 00, 02, 04, 06. This particular setting however makes everything you destroy shoot out a ring of gun fire. This mode is impossible without cheating. Thus “Mission Impossible”.

Rune, it's a ship shooter, a side-scroller like Gradius, just older and worse than Gradius. You can actually get a power-up that lets your ship turn into a mech for a short time, but it is pretty useless.

The game keeps track of how many times you get hit with a number counter on the upper right side of the screen. I found what I thought was the correct address but for this counter, but it was only for the ones digit. I found the tens digit address and froze this and I played through a few stages thinking I had a good code, but then died out of the blue. Being kind of pissed about this I set the address right before and right after these 2 addresses at 0. Upon unpausing the game my ship no longer blew up when I got hit again. Turns out the address right before what I thought were the correct 2 addresses was the right one. So it was a bit of trial and error as well as using the counter to get close.

nice work. I find that if you do an unequal search while your ship is blowing up and again when you ship is normal the adress that controlls these animations will often make you invincible if you set it to a certain value. often times it's a game of guessing from there. Sometimes too high of a value causes you to spontaneously combust over and over. However lowering or raising the value may give you a stable code. I recomend something close to the base value when your ship is just sitting there.
HG, that's exactly how I found the following code for Volguard II (J):
002B:01 - Always have partner ship
The partner ship is a ship you can pick up during the course of the game that will attach itself to you. You can also transform into the robot with this partner, however, you cannot do it for some reason with this code, but you will never lose your partner with it.

If someone smarter than me (about 95% of the hackers using this site) has some extra time, I am trying to find an ending to Volguard II (J) and something weird happens.
At the title screen you can select the Level, but all this is is the level of difficulty. You can pick from 1 to 4, with 4 being the hardest.
Anyways, as you progress through the game the Area number gradually increases. There are no break points in this game, where you clear an area and it says "next area" or anything like that. The area number just increases at certain points while you are playing.
I got to Area 25 and upon destroying the base, a little while after that, the Area does not go up to 26, but rather goes to 12. Is there a way to figure out why it does this? I am guessing the Area number only goes as high as 25, but wouldn't you think it would go to 0 or 1, rather than 12?
It got me to thinking that maybe there is more to this game than I thought, and perhaps I missed an item or a specific task that would have allowed me to advance further than Area 25. I think it is just the way the game is programmed, but I know there is a way to check out text in the ROM. If there was an ending message somewhere, then I would know that there is something specific that has to be done to beat the game. If there is no message, or credits, or anything like that, I can assume the game is just a weird loop (Areas 1 to 25, 12 to 25, 12 to 25, etc.).
There could have at least been an ending screen or something.

Yeah, 0087 is the area address, but it seems useless. Say you are in Area 10. You can set this to anything (say we set it to 33). Once you finish that area instead of going to 34 it will go to Area 11. No matter what you set this at, the game remembers what Area you are really at.

Hi. Here's a code for Super Mario Bros. for the Famicom Disk System for world select. The code is derivative of the NES game.
While in the NES was
YSAOPE + YEAOZA + PEAPYA (World 2)
YSAOPE + YEAOZA + ZEAPYA (World 3) and so on (thanks Galoob)
in the FDS game is
YILOPE + YALOZA +
PALPYA World 2
ZALPYA World 3
LALPYA World 4
GALPYA World 5
IALPYA World 6
TALPYA World 7
YALPYA World 8
LZLPYA Minus World
The "rest" of the worlds can be found with a Game Genie encoder/decoder easily enough. As in the cart version, you can visit other worlds which are replays of the regular levels, sometimes in a different setting (like an underwater castle). Unfortunately this code doesn't work with Super Mario Bros. 2 or with All Night Nippon, but you can always use the PAR codes, which are, for the most part, universal.
It was easy to find the values with VirtuaNES. Too bas this emulator is not so good with game genie codes. But that's why we have FCE.

I created the following codes on the Famicom version of Karnov (J) but I'm pretty sure they work on the US NES version as well. These codes determine your score, which is important because you get different endings depending on what your score is.
0097:?? Score Modifier (One's digit)
0098:?? Score Modifier (Ten's digit)
0099:?? Score Modifier (Hundred's digit)
009A:?? Score Modifier (Thousand's digit)
009B:?? Score Modifier (Ten Thousand's digit)
009C:?? Score Modifier (Hundred Thousand's digit)
009D:?? Score Modifier (Million's digit)
009E:?? Score Modifier (Ten Million's digit)
Note: The following values equal the number of the displayed digit
164=0
165=1
166=2
167=3
168=4
169=5
170=6
171=7
172=8
173=9
I have one other code for Karnov:
064E:09 Infinite Flying once wings are activated
Back to the scoring thing for Famicom Karnov. If anyone is curious how to get the different endings, this is from my NES Game Finishes guide:
Unlike the US NES version of Karnov, which has a really bad THE END screen,
the Famicom version has 3 different endings. These endings are dependent on your
score after beating Alakatai the dragon at the end of Stage 9. All three endings
show 3 screens of Karnov kneeling before his god. The 4th screen of the ending
is what your score affects. If you score between 0 and 29999 points, that 4th
screen will show Karnov kneeling down in a white outfit complete with white hat.
If you score between 30000 and 59999 points, the 4th screen shows Karnov
standing up complete with shield and spear, wearing some cool looking foot wear.
Finally, if you score 60000 points or higher, you get the best ending, showing
Karnov wearing a white robe and holding a staff while being bestowed the title
"God of War." In all these endings, after this 4th screen you get a few more
screens showing an Arabian city from afar and finally end up at a THE END screen
where you can advance no further.

Yeah, the only Penguin in the game is your character and it isn't really a war, just a board game type deal.
I am trying to find the ending, but the game just seems to loop infinitely. I am up to Game 76 and will stop once I see what happens after finishing Game 99. I am also going to see what happens once you flip the score over 99,999,999. Since the game more than likely has no ending (it came out in 1985), I need to put something in my NES Game Finishes guide.

Heya again.
Rey, I think I have what you need. As soon as I get the kids to bed and the wife off my back I will see if I still have them. I remember needing some kind of code to finish that game and got lucky in finding what I did. Give me a couple hours.

PS-I probably have those Karnov save states as well and I know I took some pics.

Ughh... I have a GF and I can't wait until she goes to sleep so I can get off the damned phone. I can only imagine what you must feel 24/7 :POriginally Posted by adaml
Rune says: "Girls are sexy. That's it. If you want someone to talk to, chill, etc. get a friend. Girls are only good for sexual favours... nothing more."
Cuz subconsciously and consciously good and bad girls always like the strong one, the bad one, the mean one, the sexual one.Originally Posted by Hells Guardian

Girls that say that always end up with a prison inmate or something similar.
I treat my GF like crap, not because I want to, but because I don't love her. I don't want to break up with her 'cause she was my friend before it and she'll feel really bad. She's gonna leave the country in 2 months, so I guess I better wait.
But I never call her, I never go out with her, I never go to her house, every time we're together is for something sexual and yet, in her own words: "The more you drive me away the more I want to be with you. I don't know why."
Such is life.
You know when a girl DOES like to be with the intelligent and funny one? After she has be tossed, screwed and beaten around by all the bad guys she liked so much.
When she's 30 or something she'll realize those bachelor heart-robs are no good for them.
By that time her vagins will be bigger than the gran canyon.
And you know WHY girls always love to be with the bad guy? Because they all think they can change him for the good. They all want to be the girl that made George Clooney settle down.
Which, of course, we all know it can't be done. Not until the guy decides to do.
Didn't see these online. Needed a boost to finish so this should help people out.

I have everything up to here. --

You should use FCEUXD SP 1.07, it has fixes and new features, like the entering of hex values.
"There's a sign on the wall, But she wants to be sure, 'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings."
FCEUXD is a lot better than the normal FCEUltra.
Don't worry, it doesn't overwrite any of the FCEU configuration files.
I use PocketNES on GBA to get the codes so everything will be in hex.
A few more.
