CHICAGO (MarketWatch) -- John Madden, former coach of the Oakland Raiders and long-time color analyst of NFL telecasts, has decided to retire from broadcasting, NBC Sports said Thursday. In a statement, Madden said "It's time...it's still fun and that's what it makes it hard and that's why it took me a few months to make a decision." Madden, 73, has been an analyst on NBC's "Sunday Night Football" broadcasts since 2006. His 30-year broadcasting career also included stints at CBS, Fox and ABC. He won 16 Emmy awards for his work.
