So here's the situation: I have a japanese wii in my possession which works... I guess. I installed the homebrew channel using bannerbomb this morning. Problem is that this wii is half-bricked [note that it was half bricked before I installed homebrew and was not bricked because of it], so whenever I navigate to settings I end up with an opera browser error message. I can't configure my wifi; I can't do anything with the homebrew channel.

How do I unbrick it?

Also, like I said this is a japanese wii and everything is in japanese. I had a modchip installed so I can play game backups and games from other regions but the menu is in katana or whatever. Can I change it with some region changer or something?

To confirm:

1. You can't use the homebrew channel.
2. System menu is still functional.
3. You can use Bannerbomb.

Am I right on these things? The last one is the most important.

Bannerbomb went fine. I can access the hombrew channel. I just can't configure my wifi settings because the settings menu is blocked my an opera error message.

Then I suppose you can't access your firmware version through the Settings menu either... are you able to install BootMii on boot2?

I used bootmii to run the bannerbomb if that's what you're asking.

Bootmii will not execute bannerbomb. Bannerbomb is a system menu exploit able to execute unsigned code on the system. This is used to install bootmii.
