I bought it last week. I have it, the coin, and Crysis still shrink-wrapped near this computer terminal.

I'm asking for Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, and Phantom Hourglass for Christmas so I'll have 3 different games to play.

Got Galaxy on the 13th. Quite a fun game, though I don't find it better than Sunshine or Mario 64 *Prepares flame shield*. I must say that the musical score in it surpasses any gaming tune I've ever heard. I absolutely love it and hope Nintendo bothers to release a soundtrack in the US.

*flames* you suck... Mario 64 was alright, and better when it was remade on the DS, but SunShine sucked compared to SM64.

    SMG FTW!

    Talking

I played it for an hour last night. Usually I cannot play a game for longer than 30 minutes -- related to my high testosterone somehow -- but managed to play for about 1 hour.

    It's that good!

But I wasn't comparing Sunshine to Mario 64, now was I?

I really liked the free roaming part of the 3D Mario games, which Galaxy lacks. If anything, Galaxy's layout is just small little satellites that are not connected and you're really on a fixed path. While in Sunhsine and '64, one had the option to go whereever almost all the time.

Other than that and the gimped control scheme (curse you spin-jump being not there!), I do like Galaxy.

*shoots flamethrower at him* I played it at my Local Gamestop last wednesday and yesterday, and I think from what I played it's the perfect game. I got the first Grand Star, and then almost got the first star. Controls awesome, gravity I didn't get used to, but then again I only played it for 15 minutes. I couldn't do the triple jump on the round planets, but that's me. I was far enough to use the twist move where you shake the Wiimote. I tried a couple things like doing the attack while in the air, and I got a 1up with it. If you don't think it's the perfect game, then:

    ...Wow.

Someone is being a l33t fanboy, aren't they? Giving a game a perfect score from only playing in the store is just plain dumb. I don't care if you lack the money to buy it or something of the sort, but at least play the game to the end before you start boasting how awesome it is and saying everything else sucks the big one. I've only pointed out a few common faults and you're already telling me I should go to hell. I never said it was an awful game, just that I'm not getting the same feeling from it that I got from Sunshine and '64. I'm glad your having fun with the game itself, but I could care less in this argument.

The buzz for Galaxy will die out, just like how the hype for anything does.

Funny you say that because 25 years later thousands of people around the world are still playing the NES.=P
Taking requests for SNES, NES, GB and Genesis.

Well, not die out completely. Just less and less.

I just conflicted myself, since I was in fact comparing Galaxy to older Mario games. :P

The hype for wii never has. I haven't seen a Wii in my local stores for a couple weeks.

That's fine and dandy. Though, I didn't say it would die off in the flick of the wrist. (I used a horrible sentence to end my post, I know that now; considering everyone is now focusing in on that. =P )

At any rate, the music in Galaxy is made of win. Best out of any Mario game/video game I've ever heard. I bet that if it someone heard it without Mario being there, they'd think it was some cool new orchestrated piece not ment for a video game.
