I've been extremely sick for the last 4 months.... been in a slow decline of health for awhile.... I currently look as though I've been on meth for months..... I have something seriously wrong with my digestive tract and the doctors dont have any answers for me. The only lead so far is the inability of the doctors to locate my gal bladder using any test they have tried. So now seems I'm to my last resort as tuseday I'm scheduled to go under the knife for an exploratory surgery. One doctor tells me one thing another says something totally different... well Guess I'll know after they cut me open. Im a little worried...

I think they are just in it for the money. Hope ya get better. And don't we like need those things? Or is that some part they take out because Nature is too lazy to take it out for us?

Best thing you can do is not worry about it. Worrying only makes it that much worse, and the odds of something bad happening are probably pretty low.

Thanks much everyone. So far they have no answers but I spoke with a surgeon earlier today while stranded in the hospital with an IV in my arm.... He's orderd yet another test. tomorrow I'm do back for another scan....

Well I'm still sick...... The surgeon I consulted ordered more imaging tests. says he thinks that I may just not have a gal bladder which isnt a problem on its own but also notes that the main bile duct is only about 1cm in size versus the usual 4CM for males my age. He also notes that most of my symptoms appear to be related to my original pre exsisting conditions and syas that It may likely be one of the medications I am on for it...... The problem is when they take me off the meds I have such extreme heartburn that the burning bring me to tears and the pain of it makes me puke...... So I'm currently in the proccess of trying to petition my insurance to pay for the nexium script my doc gave me in the hopes that it will be able to control my acid reflux so I can get off the other two pills I'm on that I'm told may be the problem...... unfortunately the script without insurrance runs about $300 a month and my insurrance refuses to belive that my stomach cant be kept under control by the cheap meds.......

Neither. The gal bladder is actually just a buldge in the main bile duct of the liver in which it stores extra bile to be released when a very fatty meal is eaten. I seem to be on of the 1 in about 100,000 that are born without one in fact and was fine for years of my life. they are only ever a problem when something like a gall stone lodges its self in there. most of the time in this situation the gal bladder will swell in size and possibly rupture. should the bladder be ruptured or punctured in some way bile will seep into your system and poison you to death. generally the worst anyone without a gall bladder (removed or otherwise) has to deal with is a little discomfort from a meal high in fat. So while not at all needed it does serve a purpose.

Oh and to go along with everything I seem to have caught a very nasty cold.......
